Yeah, I forgot about that, those parts for the ,lampost must be quite huge. @Redbrickman is right, an enclosure is almost mandatory for printing large parts in ASA.
The amount of pluses for ASA use are out weighted by the minuses, with the set up I use.. Because it’s not Practical to have enclosed printers for expelling the nasty gases that would accumulate in and around the printers.

It would turn my love and pleasure of 3D printers into a nightmare, not having access to them any time I liked wouldn’t work for me, that would be like sending your STL files out for printing elsewhere.. I ask ?, where’s the pleasure in that..

I make these large projects up because I can and yes they will fail in time but then I can reprint them once again with newer improvements , that’s what owning a 3D printer is all about..

Inkjet printer owners use 3rd party inks to produce their beautiful prints, because these inks are cheap and will fade in time, but without these inks they wouldn’t be able to afford to print many of the their prints, does that mean they shouldn’t use these cheap inks ?

The use of ASA filament would be a great asset to me in most of my projects, but without PLA filament I too wouldn’t be able to print as much as I do, so I’m happy to continue with the consequents..

Aren't you being a bit over the top with that "nasty gases" scare ?. Although I don't print ABS, all the other filaments -ASA included - smell very little. Yes, I print inside an enclosure, and I use a Nevermore filter ,but even leaving the doors open, there's nothing to complain in this matter.

Take into account that the room where my printers are located serves also as office/kitchen. Meals are cooked at a distance of 3 or 4 meters. No ill effects so far after being exposed to PLA, TPU, PETG. ASA, PC, PA. for several years.
Besides, even PLA releases harmful particles to some extent.

Some say that cooking a fried breakfast of eggs, bacon etc produces as many Volatile Organic Compounds (VOC's) as a 3D printer. Not sure I agree with that but I happily print ABS now with a Nevermore filter inside the printer recirculating the air through an active carbon filter. I can't smell anything which is not a scientific test of course but I do think the amount of particles are minimal.

If my misses gets a whiff on anything funny when she’s loading the washing machine, then I’m dead.. Who needs Cyanide…
These things are all I want to make and PLA is good enough for that..;) picture Pump.jpg

I bet that the soap for the washing machine has a stronger smell than any filament. :p

I thought @The Hat was ambitious with his 3D printed lamp.

... then I saw his next project!

Having my feet firmly rooted to the ground, I'm contented printing 1:18 scale models. :p

Do you think that this guy will take enough revenue from youtube to pay for the tons of filament and electric energy involved in this crazy project. ?.
I guess he forgot to feature in the video a couple of pretty girls wearing next to nothing..
