Hello,

I recently noticed some streaks in pictures i was printing with my canon pro10. I did a nozzle check and this came out:

Waiting a day and doing a nozzle check again and everything was normal again. But after printing a few images the same streaks and nozzle check problem appeared again. I assume the problem is ink starvation.
I am using original cartridges refilled with octo-inkjet ink (Dribble method). I did not flush the cartridges before refilling, but now that i did some research I realize i should have done this for the magenta.
Is there a way to still Flush/recondition the cartridge, or am i better of buying a new original one and flushing that once it runs empty?

Secondly I also noticed some magenta run out of ink on the black bars of the nozzle check (Also when the nozzle check is normal); is this something that can also be caused by ink starvation or something more serious?

Some more information on my printing habits:
I don't print so often lately, usually 1 A4 every 2 days to prevent the printer from doing to many cleaning cycles. Usually black and white.
I bought the printer second hand and saved up cartridges until I had 2 full sets. Once i had the complete sets I bought a refill set (About 1 year ago). (I also understand now that it is not the best to leave the cartridges dry for too long).
I never noticed the above as I usually only print one page every other day. It only starts streaking at the second page.
I am from Belgium.

Thanks in advance!

Something very similar happened in my Pro10 two years ago.
What worked for me :
I purchased a new Canon PGI-72 magenta cartridge and the issue was fixed at once as soon as I replaced the refilled cart with the fresh new OEM.
Afterwards I used for a while magenta ink from Precision Colos. Now that they don't ship to Europe anymore, I refill the PGI-72 magenta carts with OEM ink, that I collect from larger capacity Canon models ( PFI series )

Magenta is one of the most difficult colors, the original STS refill ink for the PRO-9500 had some issues too.
But I was able to separate the "good" carts from the bad then.

Chances are it is ink starvation due to a reaction with OEM ink causing a deposit or by the refill ink from its own.
I reconditioned a magenta cart by repetitive flushing and soaking with Fairy and a drop of ammonia.
But since I already bought a PRO-1 magenta cart (and afterwards went the same way as @Artur5) I didn't continue to use the Octoinkjet magenta (it was the only color I had issues with).

With careful observation of the nozzle checks (magnifying glass) you could alternate with OEM to empty your 3th party stock. When you change after the first indications of irregularity in the nozzle dot lines to OEM ink the problem disappears.

I did not flush the cartridges before refilling
You can easy flush your carts using one of these refill tips, just use warm water with a bit of Fairy in it 4 or 5 times then finish off with a bit of W5 window cleaner to rinse..
You can also use these refill tips to fill your empty carts quicker..
