Compared with my Panasonic KX-P1081, my Epson dot matrix (RX-P1081) sounded positively polite and considerate. No other printers I heard could screech like the Panasonic (it was a case of press the button and run).

It happens sometimeswith my printer, anyway (MP640). E.g. I sometimes forget that if I specify high quality, my printer expects paper loaded in the rear tray, where photo paper goes...
