Is there any significant difference between the ip4850 and the ip4950? I'm thinking in particular of - They use the same inks? They have CD printing? Use same printhead? Same quality? I can have chance to get a new ip4950 cheap. Would use it to backup up my venerable ip4850, obviously...

I remembered the other day that way back at posts #48 & #51 (March 2011) I said I would report back on - Well, I've used and refilled them about 10 times since then and not had any problems whatsoever. Definitely one of the better things I've bought of Ebay.

Have you tried searching for the specific printhead model number rather than say 'ip5000 printhead'? Last time I searched for a printhead for the ip5000 I couldn't find a source in the UK only the USA. The cost worked out the same even with the postage, about 50. I went through about 3...

Reply to #49 & #50. My tips/observations were specifically for the refillable cartridges of the type chang was asking about. I've not used any other method. When I refilled the cartridges there was no noticble leak from them, I think refilling them in situ on the printhead is probably doable...
