Resetting the print head seemed to do the trick:)

I did the check and allignment and they seem OK. I have pulled the print head out and replaced it. I am now going to try a photo and see what happens.

I have been using non Canon ink for some time. Recently, the prints are coming out with a decided shift to purple. Does anyone have any idea about whether the problem might be bad paper, or bad ink? I have a mix of Rainbow and Color branded cartridges which I got on line. Canon told me that...
