Hi All,
Just wanted to say, my Maxify is resurected from the dead!
Some moisture damage was found on the "Bind" board.Cleaned with isopropyl alcohol.
(Remember I found the printer 4 years ago, dumped outside - rain....)
Connected cables again - > Works!
You can disconnect every cable you...
Hi
,@The Hat
Thx for your reply. Indeed, that's exactly what was happening.
A bit of searching through the forums got me the answer.
(I wonder, one should not use a power strip to turn the Maxify off at night
in order to conserve battery life - since it's such a pain for an end user - bricks...
Just a note to myself.
I probably disconnected the flat cable that connected the RTC board to the main board.
I'll try the recovery tool, to correct my error.
Do not unplug the connector labeled BIND on M/B in Maxify w/o pluggin unit in.
Steven.
Hi Palombian,
It seems like. (no visible locking problems to see however)
Opened the side of the printer.
Disconnected the connectors on the top one by one.
Printer would boot, with different error codes depending on what whas diconnected.
Found 3 cables to the scanner / enconder had slight...
Hi all,
Today, after two years of perfect service I had my first breakdown of my Maxify MB5050.
Original Carts refilled with arc chip on them, following Palombian's instructions.
However I don't think it's the cartridges fault?
If it were a Pc I would describe it as:
"Windows is stuck in a...
Hi All,
I'm still here.
Just a small update on my MB5050
Over the last year I refilled the oem carts with arc chips, when the printer declared them empty.
I use Palombian's weight(s) for the empty and full cartridge.
My observations are the same:
Only when one of the colors starts getting...
Hi Palombian,
So, it might be a good idea to try the Chinese refillables again?
And just refill them when the chip declares empty.
I remember you had some leak issues with them in the past?
Did you also have leaks/contamination when filling them when the ARC chip declared them empty...
Hi,
It might be mentioned before. I have found that you can switch that message off:
From Front Panel, swipe to settings, advanced, casette settings -> detection
Greetings
Hi All!
Just to inform, all three colors are now refilled.
I think I will put a piece of painter's tape over the carts ink outlet port next time.
Because even when you are fast, a drop of ink can drip out when inserting
the cart into the printer.
Greetings,
@palombian: I managed to suck the ink out of the refillable cart.
In the meantime: no leaks or cross contamination anymore since the oem cart was refilled.
The Cyan Inktec pigment ink seems to be fine in my printer.
Will try to report the other colors when I refill the other carts.
But so...
Hi Palombian,
Thanks for the reply!
Yeah I kinda wondered why the Cyan contaminated the magenta.
But it seems logical: Cyan (Ali) was full and magenta, yellow were/are still OEM, and on the lowish side.
Maybe it could work if I installed all Aliexpress carts at once.
But given your experience...
Hi,
Quick reply.
After two days the maganta cart got contaminated with cyan.
Seeing the trouble you had with the refillables (@palombian). I decided to drop the Cyan Aliexpress refillable from the printer.
(Post...
Today my Maxify is partly on refill ink :)
Today the Cyan cart ran out. (error Bxxx - Red cross)
Maybe I should not use the Chinese Carts? (after reading your last post)
But since I have them anyway I have filled the cytan with 40ml
Then installed the cart. The printer did it's purge :)
What I...
I am now at ~ 8800 pages.
The MB5050 has worked fine since the empy BK cart has been replaced.
Next to be replaced are the color carts.
They now on the lowish side in the Ink monitor.
When the printer declares them empty I will fill and install the Chinese refillables.
My stat at 2 july 2018...
