    I took the opportunity to remove both pads and clean them. The one for the colour came clean right away, the black one is being stubborn. I used window cleaner and cleaned the area where the pads sit, then put some cleaner back in as you directed. Neither one seems to be sucking the fluid...

    I just had a look and it seems there is wet ink on top of the pads? I put a bit of water on the pads as suggested in the other post (Windex not handy) and closed the cover. After it did its thing, I opened the cover and the extra moisture appeared still sitting there. So, is that the answer...
