ArgyllCMS profiles: Black Point Compensation gives composite black when checked

Could you elaborate more on this point I don’t really understand. I tried to look at the documentation but I could not figure it out. If I want to get the best perspective what source profile I should use? Most of the examples that I have seen uses adobeRGB. For example what would be the best...

    Reviving a Canon pro 10

I don’t print borderless that’s why I am surprised I only print “fine art” media with the 30mm border

    Reviving a Canon pro 10

    Reviving a Canon pro 10

Hi Guys, quick question, When I print with my pro 10, it leaves a lot of ink on the side like in the photo. The nozzle check is ok, I also tried to clean the printer head resting pad. but still the same thing. This is the same for Octoink cartridges and Canon brand-new OEM cartridges. The...

Clean 5y old canon pro 10 Cartridges PGI-72

Hi all, I will now start to refill my PGI-72 with OctoInks. When I got the printer I had Cartridges that were mounted to the printer head. The printer wasn't used for 5y. So those cartigdes contain dried ink. I was wondering If I could clean them with Alcohol Isopropyl and distilled water...

ArgyllCMS profiles: Black Point Compensation gives composite black when checked

In some video that I saw on youtube long time ago If I rememeber correctly the guy explained that you need to enable BPC only when you have colors that can not be reproduced. For exampl if your paper/ink can produce a maximum of RGB value of =8,8,8 than your image the darkest point is 10,10,10...

Canon Pro 10 vs Epson ET8550

An update to this Topic, I have found that the Canon pro 10, on A3+ sheet give much more details compare to the ET8550 on Fotospeed Platinium Etching Paper (Fine Art Paper). Color accuracy is also much better on a Standard Image (test images from Jtoolman). Therefore I decided to buy Octoinks...

    Evaluating a Printer Profile

Tu be honest profites from the manufacturer a good one like Hahnemuhle will probably better than the profiles created with argy for the perspective rendering intent. I all not ultra convinced about the profiles from argy compared the one made by manufacturers. It comme useful if you have a...

Canon Pro 10 vs Epson ET8550

I don't know if there is much more changes between the PP201 and the PT101 with the ET8550. The Original ICCs for the canon pro 10, there is a very small difference between PP201 and PT101. The PT101 paper has a bigger gamut

A basic guide (see post #1) to setting up ARGYLL CMS profiling on your computer

It works with 812, you need colored separators, crop a bit the image to have perfect use of the paper, and move rather slow. But that does not give you more benefit than the 600 patch target which is much easier to scan(like 5min vs 15min), even the 483 is very good compared to OEM profiles...
