Has anyone ever refilled the ink in this printer? I refilled mines, but for some reason my black prints really really light.

I have looked on youtube. They have this type of item where they put it on the ink catridge output. Can't I just directly put ink into the catridge output? Isn't that what they are basically doing?

Hey Guys, I just recently bought this printer, but I was trying to figure out how to refill the ink cartridges. It's not as easy as how many canon cartridges are like. Any tips/videos on how to refill these HP printers? Thanks a bunch!

I also tried to do a auto alignment, but a error keeps on popping up. What's wrong with my printer now?

what would happen if i put the purge pad in the wrong way? If the corner notch is not in the left rear position? I also did soak the purge pad in windex, then ran it through with tap water. Is this what you mean?

well guys. I took apart my printer, and it wasn't too bad. I found the small rectangular purge pad, so i installed it back into it's original location. After I had reassembled the printer, i did a print nozzle check. The black did somewhat come back, but it was still missing a lot of lines...

dang that sucks. They screwed me over. hahaha. Hopefully they have some old printers laying around, and perhaps they will just give me the purge pad. I am anxious to see if this is the problem!

I went by the local canon facitlity and they sold me this ink absorber pad, but it was the wrong one. It did not feel like the other porous purge pad that I already have in my printer. The one they gave me was more of a thick cotton feel. I will be going back to them to see if they can provide...

I am going to ask the people at the canon service facility to see if they have any extra porous purge pads from doing recent warranty work. Does the porous purge pad have to be to my exact printer model, or will any fit as long as i can cut it down to size??

I see a rubber rectangular box with a small hole in it. On the big square purge pad, there was a porous pad but on the rectangular one there wasn't one.

For some reason, my printer does not have a porous purge pad for the pigment purge pad. Could this be the reason why my bgbk is not printing correctly? Does anyone know where i can purchase the porous purge pad by itself?

Also I did what you told me to do. I blew through the air port on the small black catridge (bk), and a thick blob of ink came out. I thought this was weird, so I blew on the other cartridges and then the ink came out like in a stream like pattern. I am going to assume that my bk cartridge is...

I forgot to mention that I purged the other square pad, and it seems like the windex is being sucked through it. I am assuming that purge unit is fine? Could there be a clog on the BK part on the print head that is not allowing it to print while doing the nozzle check?
