I'd wait for more knowledgeable opinions but i'd guess areas of concern would be the hours on the light source and whether there is damage or yellowing to the calibration swatch and whether those can be serviced.

I currently have no issues with photoblack(or a working printer that uses one) but im curious about the discussion of x51 series of printers being more susceptible to damage in the photo black and pigment black channels than the earlier x21 printers and its' third party inksets.

Printer Drivers seem to exist for atleast windows 7 and OSX 10.6 ? Not sure if they actually include drivers for your printer for OSes that old or they only work for older printers that may also be supported by that Driver package. It is probably less confusing even if it is a bit more time...
