and just as a final note, i installed my old CISS cartridges with no change to the recognition as well as a spare set of CISS cartridges that had never been in the machine before and still no change.

thanks for your input on this . If i didn't use third party cartridges, my business would be dead in the water with the cost of genuine cartridges. this the cartridge debate is on the same lines as the right to repair argument. This will now become another printer destined for landfill because...

thanks for your reply, its seems ridiculous that these tactics still have to be used in this day and age! plus , as a small business, i don't really have the money to buy a new set of cartridges for around £100 total, in the hope that this fixes my issue...what a mess!

this problem started for me a few weeks ago. Had been printing with a CISS for a couple of years, then moved to refillable cartridges and that was fine for about a year, then, out of the blue, it flashed up all the lights on the cartridges and said they can't be recognized. As with others here...

Hi all Not sure if this is user error, a limit of the printer i've got or a fault, but i've jsut purchased my xp-970 and when printing images (i print posters) that have lines that do not straight up or across the page, i seem to be getting jagged edges to shapes that should otherwise be smooth...
