I am shopping around for a chip resetter that works with both my Epson 3800 and P800. I saw Jose R's video on the QE 589 in which he resets a used-up maintenance cart from 0% to 100%. After removing the empty tank, he inserts a new/empty tank. I wonder if the printer registers the serial number...
OK, the chip resetter works!
Not quite the way I thought it would, though.
The chip resetter appears to reset empty (fully used) maintenance cartridges. The LED flashes red a few times, turns solid green for a few seconds, then turns off, but my printer will not accept them.
Doing a little...
InkOwl's resetter description states:
Maintenance Tank Chip Resetter for EPSON Stylus Pro 3800, 3880, SureColor P800
It is also a "QE 589" resetter, like the one I ordered on Amazon.
Also, in Jose's video for the 3880, he is working with the same maint cart as mine, T582 & according to...
The cleanings are initiated manually. Four of the cartridges are used for white ink, which is a bit finicky & requires the head cleanings.
I also pull 5mls of ink from the waste ink tube using a syringe at each head cleaning.
I don't know how much ink is dispensed in a heavy head clean, but I...
I installed my last waste cartridge in February, but I've only printed a few shirts since then. Most of the ink has probably be used in twice weekly heavy head cleanings.
I keep looking at all the 7 pin resetters out there and wishful thinking has me thinking they should work for my maintenance cartridge.
I'm sure I could go through a few hundred dollars of resetters that won't work for me.
I'm hoping to hear from both Jose & mikling, who apparently sells resetters, via this thread.
I saw the InkOwl offering. It seems a bit overpriced at $40.
My printer came with an extra WIC, I've "used up" both of those and I just purchased a new one, so now I have three. Urrk.
If I can't find...
My printer was modified for Direct to Garment printing and I am able to refill the ink cartridges easily enough, although the sometimes throws an error on 1 or 2 cartridges, but that can be remedied by removing the cartridges and reinserting them.
My main problem is the waste ink cartridge. My...
Hi, all-
Chip Resetters are a big, mysterious, gray area for me and I am hoping you will all gladly regurgitate your knowledge into this “printing chicklet’s” mouth (an analogy so disgusting it has me regurgitating a little.)
To provide a little context, I have an Epson P800 printer and I...
Hi, everyone-
I have an Epson P800 based Direct to Garment printer and I have needs!
So, I'm really glad I found this forum and I'm really hoping to find the answers I need from the brain trust at PK.com.
