I think my printer is well and truly buggered now.
When I do gray scale printing, in standard or high quality, blacks are turning out with a red cast over them now.
It's screwed!
Well I just finished testing. Still the same results. I cleaned out the cartridges, let them dry for 2 days, refilled them and still getting too much red in photo mode vs normal colour with standard printing.
I guess the print head is fried.
Are you positive that the ip4700 will work with my...
OK I've cleaned them out, the blue one is quite resistant however, it still retains a hint of blue to it, the other two colours still have a hint of their colour but not as bad as the blue.
Shall let them dry for a few days and try them. Honestly I don't see how it will make a difference...
W7 + Fresh XP Install specifically to test that it wasn't W7 causing it.
Nope.
Yes.
Normal printing, as I've always done.
Unfortunately I can't afford to do that. Even if I could, I would not risk wasting money on new cartridges if it does turn out to be something else. I'm pretty confident the...
As I've already said, I've already done that, and posted pictures it in the original post.
I don't think the nozzle check actually checks the photo jets or whatever anyway? So it's a useless test. This is why I did it the method I mentioned above, so it actually printed WITH the photo jets.
How do I do a photo/high quality mode nozzle check? I seem to be only able to do the normal one, which I posted a picture of in the original post.
Ok, so I found a picture of a picture of someone else's nozzle check, printed it via Paint Shop Pro in Photo Quality and Standard. Far as I can tell...
I don't think so. I'm still using genuine Canon printer cartridges, I'm just refilling them with ink.
A dead printer head would not produce perfect results when the printer is set on standard quality, but then produce screwed up colours ( reds are too strong ) with photo printing settings.
I've got a fairly old IP4200 printer, which has the same print head as when I bought it.
It was printing fine last year, then for a while it was sitting around unused because I had no ink. I bought some ink from Ebay recently (Seller Page/Description of ink. ) It prints perfectly fine on...
