Tell me about the Maxify printers

I've had uniformly good luck with Canon printers over the years, and that experience does weigh heavily into my decision.

Tell me about the Maxify printers

Thanks for that recommendation — I didn't know Canon made a competitor to the EcoTank! Looking through their lineup, the GX5020 has caught my eye primarily because it has a maintenance cartridge. I haven't looked at every model yet, however. (Edited to add: after further digging, it seems that...

Tell me about the Maxify printers

Coming here from asking a question in the Epson forum… It’s time to say goodbye to my beloved Canon iP4300 printer. The head has severe cross-color contamination issues, and it’s gotten to the point that the output, even in plain black, just doesn’t look good any longer. I do like the printer...

Should I buy an EcoTank to replace a failing Canon?

Not familiar with those...guess I'd better head over to the Canon forum and ask some questions!

Should I buy an EcoTank to replace a failing Canon?

It’s time to say goodbye to my beloved Canon iP4300 printer. The head has severe cross-color contamination issues, and it’s gotten to the point that the output, even in plain black, just doesn’t look good any longer. I do like the printer, and so I’ve been scouring local second hand stores for...

    Canon Pro-100 Support code 4100

I did not do that. It didn't. I've even tried powering down the printer (which I never do), and that didn't clear it. I don't. The cleaning was done for a specific reason: to remedy a print quality issue.

    Canon Pro-100 Support code 4100

Same problem here, but with a PRO-10. (Thought about creating a new thread, but it seems the issue is similar to this one.) Mix of Setup and OEM carts, all refilled and reset multiple times. I've been printing for a couple of days with this set, no issues. Today I pulled up the IJ Printer...

This is annoying: bad IP4300 print head. Replacement?

Actually, I see them fairly frequently on the local Craigslist; checking this morning I found an iP5200 and an MP600, though both are just enough of a drive that I might wait until something closer comes along. Thanks for the info — knowing which other printers use the same printhead will help...

This is annoying: bad IP4300 print head. Replacement?

A year or so ago I found a NIB IP4300 on Craigslist for a bargain price. It was in fact new and unused, and over the time I've had it have printed about 2000 pages. In the last month it's started displaying the dreaded signs of a delaminated print head: the cyan and magenta are getting...

    PRO-100, Magenta hue, even B&W

No. The Pro-100 still uses all of the colors in addition to the grays.

Private label photo papers available in the U.S.?

The only problem is that, historically, I never get what I want for Christmas. :(

Private label photo papers available in the U.S.?

Wow...I'll have to keep an eye out for their sales! (Dear Staples: Please make your 13x19 in satin, like you do all the other sizes...)

Just checked the Staples site...they're proud of that stuff, aren't they? 8.5x11 gloss is 54 cents/sheet, where the Kirkland is 14 cents. On the plus side, they have matte and satin, where Costco only has gloss.

You know, I haven't been in a Staples in quite a while, and I don't think I've ever looked for photo paper there. Have you tried it? If so, do you remember were's it made?

Don't be. I should have been clearer.
