Update:
Decided to buy the logic board (QM7-2696-000) from CRC-Tasktron.
Followed a printer teardown on youtube and swapped it out.
Printer is now running like new.
I only decided to do this after I had already spent money on the new head and there was no stock for the printers I liked.
I don't have it anymore, threw it out.
CRC-Tasktron has got back to me and confirmed most of yur suspicions of it being an issue with the main board.
They've given me a repair price, unfortunately it doesn't make economic sense to go ahead with it.
I'll use up the remaining ink I have and...
The old printhead did have the splitting into two, with the warpped nozzles.
I used the photopaper work around for quite a while, but then decided to just buy the head.
I don't have the old printhead.
The new work around is to print plain paper in standard settings. High or photo paper...
Thanks!
I want to move away from inkjet as I dont use it enough, it dries up and I end up with problems.
Maybe I get a simple document laser printer and get photos printed at a shop.
Looks like I might need to replace a printer.
I'd like to move over to laser.
It's only going to be for light household use.
But I would like to print photos with it.
Is there a brand that does better with photos, or a particular printer, or is there a feature I should look out for?
Thanks
Thanks for the replies
I bought the Printhead from CRC-Tasktron
Ink is OEM carts refilled with Octoink
I've rescanned and cropped the nozzle check.
I fitted the new head as I was getting blurry lines on the PGBK.
So if this is a logic board issue that could also have affected the printhead...
I've just put in a new printhead for my MX925 and the middle magenta and cyan aren't firing on the nozzle check pattern.
Could this be a mechanical or electrical fault?
Any help appreciated on where to look.
Thanks
