I have also heard MIS got good dye inks but it may fade fairly quick.

If it is not too much work for you, try to rescue your printers by running the waste ink adjust software.

I have seen some one converted its 3800 to take roll papers (turns it to 4800), so same trick should be good for 1400.

jona, if you could, get an Epson Artisan 810 AIO not 800. Epson fixed the paper feeding issue on 810. I had an 800 from last year and totally trashed it.
Paper jams were all the time, and it would try to feed itself like 8 sheets at a time. I called epson customer service, they admitted these...
