Canon Pixma Pro 100s Injket & Going On Holiday for 2 Weeks

I have on a number of occasions not used my Canon Pixma Pro 100 printer for over a month, with no clogged print head. This printer uses dye ink, which is much better with resisting clogs than pigment ink. Bob

    R2880 printer upgrade

What is the current operating system on your iMac? If it is the latest OS (Catalina OS 10.15.xx), it will not run software (including printer drivers) unless they are 64 bit. In that case you will need to download from Epson the latest 64 bit drivers for your R2880 printer. Epson drivers in...

Epson 3880 - problems replacini maintenance cartridge

Another option is to pry off the top of the maintenance cartridge (easy to do with a screwdriver). Then remove the ink saturated felt and replace with a stack of folded paper towels. Replace the plastic top and reset the chip on the maintenance cartridge. That way I recycle my maintenance...

Short Term storage of a Pro 100?

+1 to the Hat. You should have no problem. Leave the cartridges and print head installed. Just run a nozzle check when you fire up the printer again. I have left my Canon Pro 100 unused for several months and never had a problem.

Epson Stylus Pro 3880 NO INK CARTRIDGE

What has worked on my 3880: 1. With the printer powered up 2. Open the cartridge door 3. Remove all ink cartridges 4. Wait for at least 30 seconds 5. Reinsert the cartridges, starting from the left 6. Close the cartridge door If all goes well, the printer should recognize all cartridges. Bob

    Epson Stylus Pro 4000

You will probably need a resetter to reset the chips on Epson carts. Also some 60 ml syringes (slip luer type).

    Epson Stylus Pro 4000

I do not see the lack of LLK ink in the resultant prints, however, I am creating my own profiles.

    Epson Stylus Pro 4000

You can refill the Epson carts, as they do not have one way valves, like the carts for current Epson pro printers.

    Epson Stylus Pro 4000

Good advice from Ink Stained Fingers. I have two Stylus Pro 4000 printers. They are built like tanks, but are clog queens unless they are used often. One nice feature about the Pro 4000 is that MK and PK ink is always available - no ink wasting switching for a black ink change. The trade off is...

    Saving a 3880 (Epson Stylus Pro 3880)

The dripping of PK definitely points to a PK/MK valve problem. Most likely exercising of the valve will not solve the problem. I had the same issue with my 3880 and replaced the entire ink system (ink bay, ink lines, PK/MK valve & dampers). Now my printer is functioning as new. The ink system...

    Saving a 3880 (Epson Stylus Pro 3880)

You did get an unbelievable deal on the Epson 3880 printer. It is worth some effort and modest expense to get the black inks flowing. My advice is to get a replacement maintenance cartridge and a new yellow cartridge, if needed. I would not buy 3rd party cartridges yet, instead purchase a...

    Tiny-wee little spring

Paul, There may be two possibilities: 1. When you detached the dampers, you may have got some air into the ink lines/dampers/printer head. Sometimes the air bubbles are difficult to remove without doing an initial fill. 2. With the missing spring and potentially other issues with your capping...

    Tiny-wee little spring

Paul, If you go the full route of replacing the pump/cap assembly and the ink system assembly, your cost will be $234 (US$) for parts, plus approximately $125 (US$) for ink and a maintenance cart expended. Replacing the pump/cap assembly is not very difficult, but the ink system assembly is...
