Hi, I'm trying to help a family member with their epson 3760. The strange issue is when they print on photo paper and choose paper type as photo paper, there is a slight blueish tint to the photo printouts. But if they choose plain paper as paper type even though they are using photo paper, the colors come out fine and the prints turn out good. Not sure why choosing photo paper in the paper type settings causes the print colors to be slightly off compared to plain paper.

Which printer are you referring to - an Epson ET-3760 or HP 3760. ?

Have you tried to adjust the colors in the driver - via the extended settings ?

Are you using genuine Epson photo paper ?

Et-3760 and no haven't tried the extended settings yet and they are using old canon photo paper. It also happens when trying to print photo from a mobile phone.

Is your 4 colour printer capable of doing good quality Photos..?
It's decent but not the greatest compared to a dedicated photo printer, but the strange thing is why the colors print fine when the plain paper option is chosen but slightly off when the photo paper option is chosen. I guess I can always just leave the paper type as plain paper.

That may work but it’s the surface of the paper that causing your problem the ink may still show blueish, you got to remember the printer is using the colours to reproduce the photo and only the black for highlights, it’s a tri colour printer…

You could try using a satin photo paper and see if that makes any difference…

I don't think its the surface paper that is the issue for me as I printed 2 identical photos both on photo paper. 1 with the plain paper option and 1 with the photo paper option and the plain paper option came out fine but the photo paper option had the bluish tint. I'm going to play around with the printer settings.

Please make test - select matte or inkjet paper in the driver and print onto the photo/glossy paper you are using.
Please check if you can rub off black ink in dark image areas.
