    All colours faint MG5250

Pigment black is OK, so from what I have read I suspect the purge pump colour tube is blocked or disconnected. I have downloaded the manual for the MG5220, but the dis-assembly procedure to get at it looks daunting. Is there a short cut that will enable me to see the connecting tube?

    Pixma mg5150 error #5100

I have acquired from Ebay this very nice printer as faulty and showing error code #5100 on the LCD, and hoping to fix it. The MG5150 manual is not available from Canon - only the MG5100. But that manual does not give the 5100 code (all codes shown there start with B***, or are messages), so I...

    MP600 - Faulty printhead?

I have read about this problem before and have used the 'search' but cannot find it. My MP600 has given excellent service. It is is used mainly for mono printing, but recently I wanted a colour copy. The print was missing yellow in stripes. A nozzle printout showed the lower half of the yellow...

    CLI-526 resettable chips

My cousin (a female pensioner) has just bought a laptop and a Canon MG5150 printer. The salesman said the supplied carts contain only enough ink for setting up and testing (another sign of the times?). So I have been tasked with the job of getting suitable carts for her. I hope to use two sets...

    Canon IP4000 3BK ink

I normally print envelopes using 'plain paper' and 'draft' setup. Printing is quick. But when I changed to thicker envelopes there was smudging at the edge of the envelope. So I tried setting up with 'Envelopes' and 'DL' for the size, thinking that would give more clearance from the print head...

    Empty? PGI-5BK

Just used up the first OEM cart on my MP600. Lamp is slow flashing and the warning says the ink is low('!'). It has been for some time. When I lift the cart to check the level, the tank side is absolutely empty. Do I replace now or wait until I get 'final warning' showing 'X'?

    Canon PGI-5BK ink - pigmented?

I have just bought a reconned MP600 from Canon. All carts were new and unopened. I did a test page of black text. Settings were plain paper in draught (fast) mode which I understand uses the large black cart. I was surprised to find the ink smeared when wetted. Have Canon stopped using pigmant...

    Canon ip4000 ink feed problem

I use Hobbycolors ink and swap between two carts of each colour as required. I printed a photo yesterday after only using black text printing for the last couple of weeks. The picture was lacking in magenta. Two cleans made little difference. I had a look at the cartridge and it seemed OK and...

    IP4000 paper jam

Suddenly my 4000 paper feed has gone faulty. Paper from the top feeder is taken in and promptly slews clockwise at about 10 degrees. As the paper goes through the printing is askew and the right hand side of the sheet gets progressively mangled up. Paper from the bottom tray jams before I can...

    Faulty JetTec BC6 catridges

Ive been refilling carts for my Canon iP4000 for about 18 months now. I use two for each colour and alternate between them. Recently I had trouble with the magenta head clogging. Did the usual cleaning/soaking but found I could not completely clear the clogs. Bought a new head and everything...

    Ricoh Gel Printer

I've just seen an advert for the Ricoh GX3000 gel printer. It appears to use a new technique and this is the first time I have seen something like that advertised. No price given for the carts, or how many pages they will print. Can anyone describe the pros and cons? How about refills.

    Glossy Paper

For the info of those living in the UK, I have just come across an excellent paper. It is Unicorn brand, made in Switzerland and sold by Lidl. Called Photo Glossy Inkjet Paper, A4, 210g/m2, water resistant and instant dry. I bought a pack of 50 sheets for approx 3 (if memory serves me right)...
