Want to buy an Epson AIO and refill

Hi all,

My Kodak AIO printer that was marketed as the lowest cost inkjet (ha!) has been bleeding me dry. I cannot afford the incredibly high cost, and low yield cartridges that are available for this printer. I want to buy an AIO printer that I can refill with no problems. I have been searching and reading all I could on this site (great site, BTW!) to identify the printer that is most compatible for refilling. It seems that the Epson 837 is the choice for most.

My concern is the automatic software update issue that disables aftermarket chips. Can I buy a new Epson 837 and refill the cartridges? Or will they no longer work due to this sleazy new software that forces a user to buy OEM carts?

I have successfully installed 3 Epson WorkForce Pro WP-4530 since it was on sale. My customers are really satisfied since its fast and waterproof.

I use on two machines refillable cartriges with OCP Ink. The Printer itself retails 220 here in germany the OEM Cartriges are "really" big they hold 80ml Ink!

You should find that you need to opt in to automatic updates, you will also need to avoid firmware updates

OEM Cartriges = Epson Cartriges do come with DuraBrite Ultrapigment ink since they are Original manufactured

Original Catriges are nasty to refill I use empty refillable cartriges

I use pigmentent ink from octopus office, 1000ml cost 40 in bundle prices.

Do you know if when you buy an Epson cartridge (not necessarily the ones that came with the printer) do they come with 80 ml of ink or is that just when you refill your third party cartridges?

Ross at InkJetCarts mentions 30 ml in his advert.......dunno

Perhaps Mike at Precision colors can shed additional info.......

Both vendors offer refillable carts for the Epson Workforce Pro line......."45xx" series.......

The amount of ink that Epson puts in the cartridges that come with the printer?

How do we know if he is just talking about the cartridges that come with the printer when he says they have only 30 ml? I think everyone agrees the starter cartridges don't have much ink in them.
