saw the post re how many times can you refill, so i thought it would be nice to share my numbers and hear other refill numbers

been refilling for 3.5 years, MP830, here are my refill numbers:

my 4 CLI8 ink carts are original, each have been refilled between 22 and 32 times each, never flushed.

my original MP830 died after 22,000 copies, so i swapped in a backup MP830, moved over the print head, ink carts and was back printing/refilling in under 5 min.

have refilled my PGI5 cart 110 times, have used 4 PGI5's over the last 3.5 years.

my four orig CLI8's ink carts outlasted my original MP830 printer.

in 3.5 years, have refilled my ink carts close to 220 times.

J

MP830s and ip4300s are among the most durable Canon printers. They use a same print head. I have similar results from many MP830s and ip4300s. The ink used is definitely a factor of the long lasting trouble free performance pf these printers. But refilling OEM cartridges is surely the most critical and the best strategy for long lasting refilling for the printers. Congratulations!!!

I use:

Pro 9000 MKII for 13 x 19 and 11 x 17 borderless ( bought new )
IP5200 for 8.5 x 11 borderless and 5 % documents ( 15$ craigslist )
IP4300 for 8.5 x 11 and 50% ducoments ( 20$ kijiji )
IP4500 as a spare under the bed ( 10$ Kijiji )

All printers use CLI-8 carts and the IP's also PGI5

The CLI-8 carts I have refilled around 50 times each, except red & green from the 9000MKII
The PRO 9000MKII carts I all flushed when I switched to Hobbicolors, the IP's I never flushed, just refilled.
PGI5 only a few times.

Use Durchstich filling, never had any problems.
All 3 excellent printers and workhorses, the IP's.....you can't go cheaper than that.
