New Printer???

As I said the mp550 takes the 520 carts, are these printers any good? Also I have found a few company's that are listing cart zapers for it. Any thoughts?

As far as I know, 520 carts are the equivalent to 820 carts in Asia. There are compatible 820 carts available easily from refill stations in Asia. These carts have chips which reset them after refill. I believe you are able to obtain compatible carts in your country if you shop around.

Definitely, all Canon printers are good, but the OEM carts are expensive. It is a practice that Canon stops producing a certain model when users start using compatible carts for the model.
