from your description it sounds like the a burst membrane on the damper module. It has been a well documented problem with the workforce pro series.

Rob, thanks for providing a place that has allowed dissemination of ideas and sharing of experience. You have maintained this forum without other agendas getting in the way that is why people have participated so enthusiastically.
Glad to hear all the posts are surviving. There is precious stuff here for those that like to fiddle with our printers. Will have to change old habits. When am fiddling or day dreaming about my printers no longer will it be google "nifty inkjet" for that link to find that answer. Have been...
Its a sad day when a IP3000 dies, the last of the canon nonchipped. Cut my teeth on this printer. Have three still running with CISS and one brand new one still boxed and some new printheads stored away.
I contacted Epson re the spewing yellow ink issue and this was reply
Only time will tell if this si the case. The WP-4590 is marketed at the business world and is a sleek white with a plain box. It is not heavily discounted as the WP-4530 and can be bought for about twice the price...

looks like the clear membrane over one of the chambers breaks.

This thread seems to have turned into a AIO Epson Workforce pro WP-4530 thread.
I am testing two of these to replace my aging Canon MP360s
There seems to be the thought that the initial cartridges are smaller than the subsequent cartridges. Have finished the OEM initial cartridge and the full...
The Epson workforce pro 4530 here in Oz has a $100 cashback offer, It seems to have some good features. CISS like stationary cartridges with good volumes (Black ~50mls =2400pages), duty cycle 20,000, 4 colours, duplex printing. user removable maintenance tank. Looking to use in office...
The CISS I have tried use a reset button so the cartridges remain insitu, but 6ml resets wastes ink and time and drives the printer towards the waste ink pad error. Mainly use black in the office setting and have to reset this at least once per week.
Anyone usuing the brother printers all in...
Reluctantly have begun to explore the options for chipped cartridges, after having years of great service from unchipped MP730 and IP3000. Have begun my experimentation with the Epson all in one TX610FW also known as the Worforce 610 in other places. Am trying a Rihac CISS and CISS and...
I have used rihac.com.au for my canon and epson printers tx610fw, I believe they now have a CISS for NX420- Austalian model. They are a bit more expensive than ebay suppliers, but their products are well tested and they give good support. I realise they are not in Nth America. Not sure if they...
I have a Epson workforce with a rihac CISS. Every few months the black would stop printing and only waiting over night after multiple head cleans did it restart. The last time this happened I reprimed the black cartridge. Rihac make it easy as there is a silicone plug that you can pass a needle...
These are the most complete instructions I have seen to reset MP730 waste tank full error
They do work.

If you have an IP3000 and want some neat insitu refillable cartridges from an oz supplier.
Look at http://www.inkwell.com.au/canon/cfc.htm
I have trialled a set of these in one of my low use IP3000. They have a siphon mechanism between the chambers and the reservoir chamber is open to the air...
After having blocked purge units on my CISS IP3000's and MP730's I only use dye inks as the black instead of the pigment and try to flood with windex. This recommendation came via Rihac.
