I can't help but notice the stunning print quality! Stunning in the way of not having any horizontal lines due to printhead clogging or other problems. It all looks very clean. Particularly because it's an IP3500. I have an MP610 which in theory should outperform the 3500, but your print is way...
Holy... that's a LOT of empty cartridges! I need an empty once in a while and usually pay 2,50 per cartridge. Never had any idea such good deals were to be found on eBay.
The one reputable ink shop I know of is Octoink. They do sell Epson inks for Workforce printers, but not the 3540 specifically. It didn't show up in the quickfind box in the top left corner at least. Do take care picking the inks, replacing a clogged head will quickly undo any savings earned by...
Thanks for all the feedback :). I guess replacing the printhead does not guarantee that all problems WILL be solved.
I believe the most printhead problems were caused during the first 2 years I've had this 610. I was using a lot of "fake" inks from 123inkt.nl, like nearly everybody else in...

What do you mean "dead"? Completely killed in action or only a busted printhead? I have a Canon MP610, 4 years old, and I'm hoping it will last a bit longer than 5 years. Replacing a fried printhead shouldn't be too much of a problem.
I'm having a hard time deciding what to do. Suppose I buy the new printhead, will print quality be "good as new" again? I know it may be difficult to answer. Here is a closeup of 2 prints, 1 pigment black and the other dye colour.

Thanks :). I have one other concern, which might be an electrical problem. Sometimes no yellow is being printed, and a row (about 1/3 inch thick) without yellow shows up on the paper. It's a perfectly straight "yellowless" line so I guess it can't be a clog. Is this a malfunction in the...
