I have this same error with an MG5220 printer and i took a close look at the contact that lights the carts and i saw ink particles there. I will be going out to get isoprophyl to clean the contacts. I saw somewhere that it should not be longer than 10 mins cleaning time.

I finally solved it by cleaning the thin transparent belt in the printer and i now have a clean sheet. That was a really tough one.

I get this color streaks on a large format print on my designjet 130. It only appears on a size bigger than 16x20. I have changed the cartridges, printhead and have even primed the ink tubes. I have also tested three diffferent photo papers and it still appears. Any ideas from anyone on this?

I actually solved the problem by removing the printhead and washing it thoroughly with tap water. I found out that 3 of catridges were full of foam and i had to purge out the air from them. The bottom refill hole (german method) used to inject ink into the printer was a little soaked with ink...

i notice it occures on some paper and not on others. Like on HP Universal Instant Dry, i get stains at the begining of the fed paper length but it does not occur on plain paper and on epson heavy matt paper. I am thinking of cleaning the waste pads. I opened a topic on how to clean a waste pad...

I get ink stains at the beginning of the printed paper. I may uphold it tomorrow the image of the printed image. I changed the printhead from the ix6520 to an mg5220 and the prints were clear so i suspect the waste pad in the ix6520 printer

How do i clean my waste pad? Is it possible to just remove the waste pad and clean or just pour water on the waste pad and let it drip off which seems very risky?

ok. See the description below. I refill without the plugs

All i do is to use the German method. I turn the cartridge upside down and make sure the refill hole at the front is higher than the other sides. I refill with squezze bottles until i see ink on the exit port. Simple and effective.

Do u really need a scale to fill the canon oem 225? I dont think so.
