I'd be very circumspect about citing beauty till you have sat in front of a properly calibrated purpose built colour correcting screen. If you are in it for output, forget mac, most master printers have one for networking with clients, but do the real work on a proper screen. Demos are done on laptops for space/weight or whilst on location etc. Cant do colour critical.

14 million iPhone 6 on day one does not make it a good buy, just shows how many real ideots there are out there and why organisations of that ilk can continue to operate.

Sad that so many good people get sucked in by the hype.

AND before you quote hundreds of Pros. Find ONE PRINTMAKER! forget the wannabe pros,

"colour correcting screen" - please tell me more.

OK - Now I get it. We may he going down a semantic rabbit hole here. As English is not the first language of many on this board, probably best to drop the subject.

IN OTHER NEWS:
Did anybody see Apple's response to the reports that after selling 10 million plus iPhones, 8 people, not knowing any better managed to sit on their phone and now complain it is bent.

Apple has come out with their remedy for this called iAgra - see image below

Roy, I don't think those blokes need any Viagra as they are already stiff enough.

The following link demonstrate a self-calibrating monitor from Eizo: http://www.flatpanelshd.com/news.php?subaction=showfull&id=1272368148

11/10 :bow...............well deflected both you and @pharmasist, but no, not self calibrating, though at the top end Eizo does offer that ability, but then others may also do that.

I was thinking more on the screens created for colour correction, even brightness corner to corner, 98% RGB and sqillions more colours than I can see. Some companies also make specialist medical/ scientific screens. Not multipurpose.

Cheers:celebrate

Yeah - I am aware of that. Basically they are industrial strength devices for studios, prepress installations and anywhere requiring consistent professional colour reproduction on a consistent bases. They are not cheap.

My comment and interest, was based was based upon the fact that not many amateurs or enthusiasts are putting that type of money or resources into the screen display. Considering it is only one link in the reproduction chain. Then again people do spend that type on money on their hobby. Nothing wrong with doing so.

Peace.
