Which ink type should i use to re-fill a canon 4300?

Where i live, they don't sell canon specific inks. Which one suits canon better: epson or HP ink's?

Is formulabs ok?

Read what ink your printer uses pigment or not and what droplet size it has 2pl I think. Then research if the ink you are going to use like EPSON is used in a similar epson printer that has 2pl droplets etc.

Then you can use the ink and be sure it will not clog your print head, and require a printer profile if you want accurate color in your prints.

Be careful: since both HP and Canon are using bubblejet technology to put drops on the paper, the viscosity and drying time should be more similar than the ink for Epson, which uses piezo print technology (vibrating cristal which causes sudden pressure changes causing the ink to be thrown out of the nozzle on to the paper). So even the Epson compatible ink (should be dye based, so durabrite compatible Epson pigment ink is unsuitable for your Canon !!!) is more micronised, it could give disappointing results on photopaper due to the viscosity and drying time differences.

Besides: why not order over internet ? Hobbicolors UW-8 and Image Specialists are both excellent quality refill ink available on ebay and are both very affordable.

You didn't mention where you live, but HobbiColors is very flexible and will work with you, so shipping shouldn't be an issue. Read through the various threads and you'll find that HobbiColors is one of the favorites here along with Formulabs and Image Specialists ink. Stick with one of these three and don't try to substitute. My personal favorite is HobbiColors although I've used the other two inks in the past and had fine results with all of them.
