Save your money and use the original OEM orange clips that come with new Canon cartridges. You can use a #64 rubberband around cartridge and clip, to hold the clip tightly in place. Works great for me.

I would but I refill my own carts and my old clips are long gone. I have been using the same set of carts for about a year now.

Every time I have tried those orange clips I could never get them to fit my OEM cartridges.
I have only ever taken them off replacement cartridges that I had lying around that were not in use, and never bought them separately.
Maybe that's where I am going wrong, I would love to use them.. :|

I have found that cutting one inch (25mm) wide sections from a bicycle tire is a perfect low cost storage "clip" for the Canon ink tanks. It seals both the outlet port as well as the top vent. I used an old tube marked 24 1.9 which has a diameter approximetly one inch.

Sorry about that ... it is the tube. Make one inch wide rubber bands and they snap on to provide a good seal. I have posted a picture. Hope you can see it here:

dozens of uses for rubber bands cut from bike and car innertubes. I've used them to "tie" my fly fishing rods and wading staff together when flying to a fishing destination
