Hi all,
I have a venerable iP5200 which gets only occasional use. Today, partway through a small greyscale job, I ran out of paper in the top feeder.
I topped up the paper, but instead of pressing the upper button to resume printing, accidentally knocked the power button (just above) instead.

When I powered back up, I got an immediate error- 20 alternating orange then greeen flashing lights, followed by a longer green, then repeated.

I've powered off for a couple of hours (cleared the jb in the print queue, removed the USB connector and the mains plug), but there is no change each time when I power back up again.
Windows dingdongs immediately the power is switched on to recognise the printer via the USB port.
None of the functions work, cannot access the print head etc.

Does anybody have any ideas what the problem might be?

Thanks,

Jon - You are not going to like this ...

The ip5200 is very similar to the ip4200, and it's a fair guess that the ip4200 and ip5200 share the same error codes. The ip4200 Service Manual says:

----------------

Cycles of blinking in orange (Alram[sic] LED) and green (Power LED)
20 times

Error [Error code]
Other hardware error [6500]

Solution (Replacement of listed parts, which are likely to be faulty)
Logic board ass'y (QM2-2670)

----------------

I would not trust that the Logic Board part number is correct for an ip5200.
It looks to me that it's time for a new printer.
