My 4500 stopped running. A friend checked it for me and said that the adapter module circuit board had a fault somewhere in it. I think I need the entire module but the only place I can find it is on ebay for $70. I might pay that if I have to but I would sure like to find it cheaper. Anyone have an extra one laying around?:p Or, barring that, know where I might find one?

Thanks for your response. I've tried searches for that number and also the module number apart from that number. So far no luck. Some list as sold out, I hope that means that some might appear someday.

Unfortunately, it wouldn't fit in the slot. Wrong shape.

If the one that Fenrir Enterprises listed for you outputs the same voltage then the shape shouldnt matter at all.

A bit of soldering and a little bit of cabling would make the connection for you
and just tape the new adaptor to the back of the printer and it would work perfectly..:)

Now there's a thought. Lots better than shelling out $70.

My electronics buddy tells me that it would work if the voltage and amperage matched. Unfortunately, it doesn't. He said that the higher amperage ones will tend to be more expensive, and that looks to be true.

How did your friend check the power supply?

If he found bad components on the circuit board what are their ID numbers?

This could very well just be a dead circuit board inside the printer.

He checked something with a voltage meter (I think) and said something wasn't getting power but it would be difficult to find what it was.
