do you sell empty 220/221 OEM cartriges?
I found a local supplier for OEM (old style-windowed) 220/221 carts. It might be pricey to ship to Europe, but if theres any US folks here looking for them- let me know.
I am interested. is it original OEM?

Thanks for explaining the difference between compatible cartridges and OEMs.

Websnail...look forward to hearing that you have succeeded in getting some good 520/1's.

lowepg Is there ANY downside to swapping chips to windowed 220/221 carts?
The only down side stopping most cheapskates is the cost of getting a complete set of the OEM 220/221s
after the swap the cartridges become the real 225/226s and as you said its a no brainer.. :clap
Hi, this is my first post, so still unsure about things:

I'm going to buy OEM 521 cartridges to replace 526 cartridges and just swap the chips, as I would like the partially transparent window of the 521 s .

Are 521 s the same as 221 s apart from the chip?

I read Canon are going to make the 521 s fully opaque soon as well, is this true? How would I know before buying ?

Are there any fully transparent OEM Canon cartridges that could replace 221/521/226/526 ?

Any help and ideas would be appreciated!

:hu

First off welcome.:)
(1) Yes. Just a different region.
(2) You wont but its fair chance that theyll still have the clear window.
(3) No, there are compatibles but there only half as good as OEM for reliable refilling..:(

You'll buy from me 1 set of empty OEM 220/221 cartridges (never refilled) for 20$ (with shipping) ?

Today I bought empty OEM 520-521 cartridges.

Are there instructions how to swap chips from 225/226 to 520/521 ?
