Thanks Peter

Guess that's why their site doesn't offer an English version.

All of you have gotten me thinking that perhaps my Canon MP600 is repairable.
As stated, I've been refilling those carts for years, but now an error message says that it doesn't recognize the print head. Have tried removing it and soaking just the ports in hot water, but no luck.
Any better idea or is the head shot?

They do in fact have an English site; I bought one from them only yesterday.

The problem your having with MP600 and its shot print head,
did you ever think that the print head just might be past its sell by date i.e. time to get a new one.

Try here http://officestoredepot.com/mp600.aspx :weee

If you wish to refill your new MG5220 printer then you could get a set of 220/221 cartridges and
change the chip on them as they are easier to refill and will work much better for you..:)

Hat, you wouldn't be teasing me now, would you? "Sell by date"?

Thanks for the site though, that replacement head is about $30 cheaper than I'd found elsewhere. The cost of the head is one of the reasons I purchased a new printer; the cost was about the same.

I do plan to order some 220/221 carts, if I can find clear ones, and swap chips until a US re-setter becomes available.

Also check your local Authorized Repair Center. They may still have a stock of print heads that aren't available anywhere else.

can you use a 221 generic ink with chip in place of a 226 cartridge or do you have to swap out the chip?
