Guys, I would like to know if printheads for mp540 and mp550 are the same? I cannot get my mp550 work coz of a b200 error so I am thinking of fixing a second hand mp540 printhead into it. Do you think that would be possible?

According to this site the print head is the same QY6-0073 for both the MP540 and the MP550: http://www.crc-tasktron.co.uk/index.php?app=ecom&ns=prodshow&ref=73

But there is a risk that a failed Canon print head can damage the logic board and a damaged logic board can damage a new print head, so replacing the print head is a gamble, and I cannot tell your chances of success.

It would seem that you’re in luck the two print heads for the MP540/ MP550 have the same part number (Qy6-0073), so they will work in both machines..

That is if the other print head is not damaged also, please beware that putting an untested print head into another printer can also damage the logic board.
Edit:- Peter you just piped me..
