MG8120 or MP990?

They are practically the same price from canon....

I had just ordered *another* MP990, but now I see the mg8120 has dropped like a rock as well in price.

I was leaning towards the MP990 to avoid the BS of the new opaque carts, but is there any significant trade-off I'm giving away if I stick with the older model?

which is irrelevant unless you have a Canon HD camera
If you did need this feature, the mg6120 has it for $130

The black gloss finish on my MG6120 is not gonna last long. The touch sensor buttons are cool though

If I planned it better or found this site before I made my purchase, I would have gone with the older printer so I can reset carts and not have to transplant chips (which was quick and easy but an avoidable step nevertheless)
I can say the drivers and the interface between this model and my computer is very nice. Not sure if older printer has same software and options-- I'm sure it does but may want to verify in case it effects final decision

This option is only available to the owner IF they use OEM cartridges every time and dont attempt a refill or chip override..:barnie
