I've had this printer offline for a couple of months because of an amber light error. However, before throwing it out I decided to try one last tine. I took the printer off my iMac then put it back again. Now I have a different error message. Now I get ten alternate white and amber light flashes. One suggestion is that the ink purge system is full. Could that be the problem?

Thanks in advance.

@John Wallace, you’ll need to turn on the printer again, but this time count how many times the orange LED is flashing, that’s the best was to diagnose the problem, come back with the answer please...

The 10 alternating white and orange flashing = Error B200 which means the printer has suffered a print head and/or logic board failure.

The service manual for the iP7250 is nowhere to be found but here is a clip from the service manual for the older iP4800:

It is seen that it is recommended to replace both the print head and the logic board. The reason is that when a Canon print head fails electronically it can damage the logic board and a damaged logic board can damage a new print head.

A new logic board is likely nowhere to be found, and replacing only the print head is a gamble for which I don't know the odds. The print head is QY6-0082 if you want to search for one and gamble. But maybe it is time for a new printer?

Many thanks, Peter. A new print head is a thought and I have a possible source but it could be the logic board as you say. I will dispose of the printer quietly!
