It should be excellent. I had an Epson 1400 before (the predecessor of this model) and it capable of printing with 5 different droplet size per ink channel: 1.5/3/7/14 and 21 pl and uses the CcmYK 6-colour printing mode.

You can use both dye as well as pigment ink in these models. Don't forget to install the necessary waste ink tank, to redirect the waste ink in order to keep the sponges dry as long as possible.

as I like precision colors, also how do you install waste ink tank? and also I have read that B&W printing isn't that good but I really don't print that much b&w anyway.

Actually you can pretty good B&W-prints using a custom profile. You might contact Martin of octoinkjet.co.uk for the detailsof attaching this necessary waste ink tank.

Precisioncolors is a very good supplier and sells the famous Image Specialists ink. If you want fade and waterresistant inks, check Precisioncolors Klariah pigment ink for this printer.

I have the 1500W too using OCP Dye inks with a dirty quick 800 Patches profile with Colormunki & ArgyllCMS combo. I had severall 1400 before and sold them all equiped with refillable carts and external waste ink. now I have only "one" 1500W and its just great it sits next to my R3000 "wirelessly" on a plan cabinet

This printer should be great, I profiled many of these as well as 1500W. Quality inks + good media = quality profiles + certification = you know what for you paid your money.
