I've just refilled the PG-240 XL (black) and the CL- 241 XL (color) cartridges for my Canon MX 472 printer and whenever I begin to print a document I receive an annoying message on my computer screen telling me that I'm running low on black ink. The printer menu screen says that the status of the color cartridge is unknown.
How can I override or disable the ink monitor so that message won't keep popping up and the status of the black cartridge remains unknown? For what its worth, when I replaced both cartridges, the blinking amber light never came on and I never saw an empty cartridge message. Consequently, it was not necessary to push the reset button.

Hold down the stop/reset button (red triangle) for about 20 seconds or on some models the paper feed button, that will stop the messages, you will have to then manually keep an eye on your ink levels, the moment you spot any ink fade refill them to avoid potential further issues.
