I have never flushed a CLI-8 Green cart before but have just completed flushing an OEM cart.

No matter how long I flushed it with running water the sponge still stayed Cyan colour.

Not concerned as I don't think it will affect the final ink colour once refilled but Interested to hear if anyone has experienced the same?

Could it bee that the Green has a very high proportion of a Cyan ink and maybe not the usual CLI-8 Cyan?

I used a purged CLI-8 cyan for my green and it wasnt completely clear either,
then I used a yellow cartridge for the red again not completely clear.

I also used a cyan for my photo cyan and magenta for my photo magenta,
relabelled them all BCI-6s my iP9950 cant tell the difference nor can I..
All the cartridges came from the octoink.co.uk stables as well.. :woot

Just to be clear (no pun intended)

The cart is an original OEM Green, and thanks to Martin for supplying it, as they as scarce as hobby horse manure :)

I have no worries about the colour as I am thinking it will have little effect once saturated by the Green ink.

Just seemed weird that the sponge is light cyan.

I can promise you I didn't sell you a lemon... They're cartridges.. ;)

*apologies for the poor joke*

I've noticed that the Canon grey leaves a yellow stain on the ink bottles so there's lots of "oddness" like this that highlights how these inks are really all made up of different components.

Red mate, the Red & Green cartridges Martin will be sending me will have pure white sponges in the cartridges. All good things come to those who wait, so you beating me to those two cartridges means you get the stained sponges:)

Careful!

You don't know what lies beneath that plastic casing...

The Green one may have come from Mars, where they fill them with a paper eating virus.

The Orange one...Well, it comes from Holland and as soon as you put it in your printer there will be a funny sweet smell, and your printer will act all strange and print funny text :weee

Better break out a couple of "tubes" while you wait for the clean sponges...

Pssst...I think Mr Octo has been testing his own home brew ink in them so watch out

Every other week please... Get it right...

As to the cartridges, still waiting for any reds and greens... (with pristine white sponges and homebrew pre-filled natch')...

Rarer than a large orangtang by the name of Gerald, playing the bagpipes it seems...

:p
