has anyone weighed a new 220 black or a 221 cartridge when they were new before using them, as i am interested how much an OEM weighs compared to my refills, after i find a scale i plan on weighing a new 221 gray cartridge with a clip that i normally use for refilled cartridges so at that time i will know the weights of the 221s but i have so many of the other cartridges i do not forsee buying anymore. the gray is the only cartridge that i am short on. or how about submitting weights of brand new cartridges (all numbers) and having a reference chart, sticky?

From weighing a set of new and unused set of PGI-520/CLI-521 cartridges I found these weights for the cartridges without the orange cap and vent sealing tape:

PGI-520: 35.3 g, CLI-521C: 20.3g, CLI-521M: 20.2g, CLI-521Y: 20.2g and CLI-521BK: 20.4g

Except for the chip these cartridges are identical to the PGI-220/CLI-221.

The scale used was one of the cheap Chinese scales, with a capacity of 500 grammes and a resolution of 0.1 gram. No accuracy is specified, so the weight of the dye cartridges might well be the same 20.3 grammes. This makes me think the grey cartridge is also around 20.3 grammes.
