Canon PRO 300 5B00 error

Hello! I have a canon PRO 300 that displays error 5B00. I contacted a service, and the people there told me that there was nothing more I could do. Can I still solve this problem? Thank you!

The second link suggest downloading a service tool.
This is how to reset the ink counter, but take care about the version number.
Only versions dated after the release of the PRO-300 are susceptible to work.
Others will block all further access.

FYI: this is (an evaluation copy of) version 5103 from 2018

The version for the PRO-10 already had number ST5204, I wouldn't dare.

You will have to pay a few bucks for a reliable hack.
Search on eBay, I've seen version 6000 (no guarantee but much more chance).
Do your research, good luck and report back.

PS: the ink absorbers will not overflow the next day, this is something to tackle later.

Going to ask the question... Has anyone actually pulled a Pro300 apart to work out how to change the pads or fit an external waste ink tank?

Alternatively has anyone done the same on a Pro200? Asking as I may have the opportunity to do just that but I'd rather follow in someone elses footsteps if at all possible as I suspect I'll end up wrecking a unit if I don't have some clues in advance.

Similarly access to a service manual while unlikely would be very welcome, if anyone knows of a source.

This seems to be an unexplored territory. AFAIK none of the regulars here owns these printers, so you'd have to be a pioneer and endure the foreseable mistakes...
Have you searched on Youtube ?
As for a service manual, PeterBJ is the expert, but I suspect that the only place to look for it is Canon's vaults
