I have used Hobbicolors ink for a long time. Besides excellent colors their ink works extremely reliably on my ip4000 and ip4200. I often print pages after pages of color document in batches. When picking up the thick pile of prints from the printer I never saw bad prints except when ink happened to run out in the middle of my print jobs. That's the moment you would be really impressed by how good quality the ink is. Two weeks ago I was in a rush to print some 8x10 photos. I started out with cartridges full of ink. I kept printing one after another, with short breaks to open the files on the computer to print. I kept printing until my magenta ink ran completely out. I finished a 50 sheet box of 4x6 and about a dozen of 8x10 photos. The printer did not even hi-cup once. I used prefilled compatible cartridges on my ip4000 before. There is simply no comparison. Too often and too many quality issues. Wasted a lot of money on those aftermarket compatible cartridges.
Couldn't agree more. Hobbicolors is by far the best value ink available for UK customers,IMO. I reckon that it costs me about 50p a cartridge using Hobbicolors ink for refilling, including shipping charges to the UK.

Personally I've found that Magneta needs to be toned down a little to get near to Canon ink but this is easy to do by altering the printer profiles.

Most companies selling compatible Canon cartridges use universal ink which is nowhere near as good as Hobbicolors ink. My advice would be. Don't waste your money on compatible cartridges (chipped or not) but have a go at refilling (chip resetters are now available for later Canons) There are plenty of guides on this board. If it's not for you, stick to OEM carts.

I suggested www.mals-e.com to Dave. This shopping cart system is absolutely the very best and it is free. It is very flexible and meanwhile the easiest to set up. No any programming needed, just add a buy button image with a simple link. I hope Dave will consider this and all of us will be happy.

Why small stores do not use mals-e is beyond me. I've been using it for 6 years now, never a singe issue.

Can you get a nozzle check print ok which is perfect except there is no yellow test bar ?
What did you clean with alcohol ?
Have you got any Flush / Cleaning Fluid ?
Have you run any Head Clean Cycles either Deeep or Light ?

Sorry to be a pain.......what exactly do you mean by the pad ?
What country is your location ?............... Flush is a liquid for running through the printhead to help clear clogged nozzles.

How many months or weeks have you been using the printer with no problem?
