Hi,

A friend bought the same model Epson that I have after seeing it in action. She bought a display model on Ebay (no ink cartridges) that worked fine for two weeks and then overnight it died and won't power up. I've had computers since 1986 so this isn't my first rodeo.

Has anyone ever tore one of these beasts apart? Is there a replaceable fuse inside that makes it worthwhile to do so and if so, does anyone have any hints on the tear down.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions,

Tom

I searched for a free download of the service manual, but found none. You can buy a download here for 10$.

The printer not turning on could be caused by a failed power supply or probably a fuse, but it could also be caused by an error in the printer causing the power supply to shut down or refuse to start.

Here is a thread about a similar problem, maybe you will find something useful?
