Hi try do downgrade:
Turn off the printer.
Press and hold STOP + COLOR + Wi-Fi + ON buttons at the same time within one minute after printer is turned off.
Hold this buttons until all LEDs except power LED is ON.
Update devices list and select firmware then click update.
When update is completed all LEDs will blink.
Press STOP button to turn off the printer.

STOP - red triangle in the circle.
COLOR - color copy button with two blue sheets of paper.

As Palibon has noted the WICReset tool now has a firmware downgrade function for printers that have an earlier version.

Tip: Check the firmware version available via the utility is an earlier one that the one you already have on your printer to avoid embarrassing yourself by re-installing rather than downgrading.

I have zero experience of this functionality in the tool but the developers have assured me it works and costs a key (like a waste counter reset) so if the option is there it's a quick one to take.

Important to note though, any firmware update/change is very power sensitive so make sure you ensure your power isn't going to be interrupted midway through the process or you'll have a printer shaped brick for all the good it will do you otherwise.
