When Sensient inks were available online in the US there were forum members who were very happy with them. If they are from the same manufacturer they should be very good. The company that was selling them here went out of business some years ago.

I am from Spain too, and can't be happier with octoink.co.uk .

I started refilling with Sensient Formulabs; the reseller hosts a printer and ink related forum and gives some good advice from time to time. But there isn't an entire community like here. I was happy with the ink quality and accesories, but they carried a hefty price tag.

Now I use Image Specialists inks bought from octoink. I tried their pigment black and now will do with KMP universal, but the former caused almost no clogs and the quality seems good. My experience with the customer service was remarkably good; prices and shipping costs were more than satisfactory too.

That said, I can't give a "professional advice" as I print mostly for myself and for education purposes, far from "communication grade" materials. I could remember only one serious readablity problem in the past, with 3rd party compatible cartridges used for pigment black, but neither Sensient nor Image Specialists.

Thank you all for the responses, it appears that as the ink Sensient Octoink are of good quality, I will try to make an order and see that such octoink, gray ink also available with Sensient thing is not so.

Another question then it is better to ask KMP pigmented black ink or Image Specialists?

Let me recomendais charging system? German?

thanks.

There are some subtle differences in both the KMP universal black and Image Specialists black,
both are very good and perform extremely well against OEM black,
but I much prefer the KMP 220 black over the other two in my opinion its even better again.. :)

For the refill method... I think that http://www.google.es/search?hl=es&q=german+refill+method is a good compillation of articles and videos :-D many of them linked to this forum.

The ink to use for pigmented black cartridge is a matter of choice. Image Specialists and KMP both have products formulated to replace the exact canon cartridge (in our case, pgi-520). KMP also has a "Canon universal" black pigmented ink, and this brand has a fame for being less prone to clog the printheads and maybe more "highlighter (smear) resistant". (Resiste mejor los subrayadores)

Anyway, Image Specialists black is very readable and I had no problem with it. I printed some official copies of "degree project" on high quality paper, with the printer configured to use only pigmented black from Image Specialists and the result was very good.
