Its been so long I am truly 'rusty' at navigating my way around the site. For no particular reason that I can fathom I have really slowed to an absolute stand still with printing and using my cameras.

Just retired in January this year, so one would have thought that I would have had time aplenty on my hands. Sadly, no! I have been really busy and its only that the last two days has (thankfully) been too wet to go outside.

Time to address the ELEPHANT in the room.

3880 still has clogs, ink carts have not had a shake in 18 months, or more. Ink is in deep dark storage. and may be dead. have not updated drivers for any applications. Almost forgotten how to use Lightroom and Photoshop!!!:ep.......I am in hopes that this venture into the past will be the tip I need to motivate me to get back into it.

HOPE you are all well, and we can get that Rant section a bit more active :weee

Actually I am REALLY looking forward to catching up, its been a tough couple of years, with more than enough challenges. works behind me, my health is good, so there are no valid excuses

    Cheers

Welcome back, You Auld bastard, and there was I thinking you had shuffled off this mortal coil, but it’s great to have you back, it good to hear your still vertical, but I got to tell you....

If you think for one moment you’ll have plenty of time on your hands now you’ve retired,... FORGET IT sunshine...

Since I’ve retired I don’t know where I ever found the time to work in the first place, because there’s simply not enough hours in a day now to get anything done, time is just flying by...

I’ve all but forgotten how to print with an inkjet because I’ve moved onto 3D printing, for which I get much more pleasure from and if I never get another print job I’ll be very happy, I haven’t had ink stains on my hands since your absence..
@stratman will be very pleased to hear of your return..

Welcome back, 3dogs. @The Hat was going to have a wake for you. Well, maybe just the drinking part, but your name would surely come up at some point.

Retirement isn't for the weak. It does seem like there is more to do than when you were employed. Not only are you doing the things needed done today but also catching up on all the things meant to be done yesterday. It never ends as long as you're upright. ;)

I'm sure both The Hat and Sumi, the boss of the Picture of the Week thread are happy you're back to post a few snaps for all to enjoy. Things got so scarce that an image of a fecking mustard bottle took the POW prize. :D

But beyond that nothing has changed much - inks are still fading ... and printheads are still clogging.....

LUVVLEY to see you are still going too, ' tis, nice and also funny how sharing images, ideas and thoughts creates connections around the globe. Particularaly, pleased to find that @TheHat is still upright and printing, even if it is 3D...Zimmer frames, potty holders and the like I guess :hide:old:duc:lol:

on the subject of fading, have a set of 3 images that I display on rotation in our lounge, they have been "exposed" to sunlight for 7 years now and the colours are still vibrant and strong. Have another that gets full sun for about an hour in theafternoon for around five months of the year... still going strong.
Those Cone pigment inks are real stayers IMHO.

Must confess some trepidation about firing up the 3880 and finding bits for it, then thats part of the 'fun' :barnie

You are on the money with that hours in the day stuff, I'm suspecting our Goverment has been in cahoots with The English! ....exploiting the fact that Big Ben is down and having a fit (or was it a refit), to tamper with the number of hours in a day.:gig:gig

It was your sausage that inspired my mustard, Herr Fingers. Or was it my hot dogs that inspired your sausage? We may never know. :\

I hope this doesn't turn into another 'elbows' situation.

Its 4th day of winter here and we rely on burning logs for our heating..........

about catching up on things that need to be done

....there is around 10 to 15 tons of cut tree trunks and 2'+ major limbs sitting on the ground in the paddock behind the shed waiting to be split to use........ two hours of heavy lifting has seemingly made no impression.......:he

Did'nt get to the Printer today...:idunno
