Seriously wanting to experiment with printers

Hello,

As part of a new art project I've started collecting printers, wanting to experiment with them, as I've always experimented with photography.
Over the last month, I have collected:

Canon IP4500

HP Deskjet 1000 110a

Brother HL22

Canon MG5325

HP PSC 1500

brother dcp j4110dw

hp c5180

Samsung ML2020W

Brother HL5150-D

Some on loan, some as gifts. Some laser, some inkjet. Only one of them fully functional (my home printer for documents, the Samsung).

Looking forward to the discovery of this wonderful world of artful machines with all of you.

Tried to refill the HP deskjet 1000's HP301's yesterday - quite unsuccessfully it seems, so a steep learning curve awaits!

I spend already 5 years trying to understand Canon inkjet printers only .

For each series you need different resetters, ink, spare cartridges etc (manufacturers change every 2 years for this reason).

I would try to determine a specific goal and select 1 or 2 printers that give the best quality, are easy to refill, cheapest to run or whatever is your priority.
