Take a look at the images below. I picked up a used Samsung CLP-680 with low use. Monochrome and color output are excellent, but I get regular magenta and cyan marks on every print. I suspect these are due to some sort of defect in the aftermarket magenta and cyan carts carts. (The black and yellow carts are Samsung brand while the magenta and cyan carts are True Image and LD Products, respectively.) I cleaned both carts' rollers with alcohol with no change to the print defects.

The simplest remedy is to purchase new carts. Before I do that expensive thing I figured I'd post to here. Maybe someone has had this issue before and can recommend a potential fix?

Probably damage on one of the rollers inside both the magenta and cyan carts. Note: Could indicate transfer belt damage/wear. Canon ITB unit p/n: RM2-5907-000.

Remove the cyan cart. Hold the thing so the visible roller faces you. Slowly twist the roller gear and inspect the roller lengthwise as it turns. I bet you find some sort of damage to a/o debris embedded in this soft roller. There's yer problem.

Regardless of what, if anything, you discover, this issue cannot be repaired. You must replace both carts. Reason?
Most toner carts contain three rollers: the Primary Charging Roller, Photosensitive Drum (visible), and Developing Roller. Each located is inside the cartridge and cannot be serviced. Replace the cartridge.
