Hi,
I've went through the forum and picked out that the best 3rd party ink to be used for the 9500 comes from Image Specialists. Here's the list from their catalog:

PGI-9C : WJ2115
PGI-9G : WJ419
PGI-9GR : WJ1157
PGI-9M : WJ6162
PGI-9MBK : WJ1159
PGI-9PBK : WJ1158
PGI-9PC : WJ2116
PGI-9PM : WJ6163
PGI-9R : WJ6164
PGI-9Y : WJ7062

I gather these are all pigment inks. How are the quality of the Black/grey inks? Do you use other ink form other manufacturers in combination with these from I.S?
Thanks
Alvin

I am currently using I.S inks in my 9500 and dont have a single problem with them.
I have in the past used both OEM ink and I.S. ink together again with no visible differences..:)

Hi Hat,

what about your blacks you are using now? All I.S? What is the KMP pigment U+220 Black I see in your signature? Also used with 9500? Also, I have a problem getting I.S from where I stay (SINGAPORE). There is no distributor here. Which online shop should I get the ink from?
Thanks again!

I use only the I.S inks in the 9500 and one Canon red left (nearly used up).
I dont use KMP inks in this printer at all but do however exclusively use the KMP U and KMP 220 inks in the rest of my dye printers.

I got my pigment inks from inkjetcart.us; the postage wasnt a problem because they use the US mail and not International Couriers.
Octoinkjet dont do pigment inks for the 9500 and as far as I know precisioncolors dont do them either.
Pigment inks are only sold in the US or Asia as they are not sold in the EU at all for the small printers and I only buy the best. :)
Happy printing..

An up-date to this thread:- OctoInkjet and Precisioncolor are now stocking I.S. inks for this printer

Hat If you can get IS pigment inks from Inkjetcarts then I'm surprised that Websnail & Mikling don't sell pigment inks for the pro9500. Is there a reason they don't sell them?

All of them! LOL
Sorry to barge in but coincidentally I just this very minute purchased a 9500 MKII on ebay for $336 free shipping. Now the realization hit me. OEM versus 3rd party. Are some of you refilling the original CLI-9 carts and by passing the ink monitoring system? Or are there resetters available. Are the PRO9500 Carts as easy to refill as the CLI-8? Can't seem to find much verbal or video info on refilling these on You tube.
Thanks!!

The will be available within 24 hrs. ...just got to get those pics etc cropped and then shazam.

If things turn out, I'll even have some real Canon PGI-9 pigment carts down the road as well. Still working on some stuff for those though.

That's great mikling, Will it be just inks or also refillable carts?
From what I've able to gather from another source is that the MK and GRAY chips are not resettable but the other eight colors can be reset with the CLI-8 resetter.

I also saw a supposed ARC set of chips for the 10 cart set on EBAY. I am a bit leery as the want $114 for them.

Looking forward to seeing what you will have in the next day of so.

Its more lightly that there is not enough people using this printer to warrant stocking all ten colours
so big stock and very little sales = not good business, mikling says he will stock them shortly see above.
jtoolman Are the PRO(%)) Carts as easy to refill as the CLI-8? Can't seem to find much verbal or video info on refilling these on You tube.
They are just as easy to refill as the CLI-8s but there are no videos made of the refilling and youll only find instructions with pictures here on this forum but nowhere else.

Your right about the ARC chips there are expensive and they do work but stay away from using compatibles
on this printer, only use OEM cartridges if you care about quality prints and your print head.
Not all of the Cli-8 resetters will work on the PGI-9 chip, there are a few that do however.. :)
