I have just bought some Canon Fine Art Matte photo paper & tried to do a Colormunki profile & I can't print out the test chart with the 35mm borders Canon makes us use on fine art papers. When I print the chart the top colours of the chart are almost missing because Colormunki chart is printing at full A4 size which doesn't fit inside the 35mm fine art borders. I could fix this by using the Photo Matte paper setting but this paper setting uses less colours than the fine art paper setting.

All of them! LOL
Are you saying that it will not use Red or Green? You may not have a choice with the CM and the borders that Canon imposes.
It might not really make that much of a difference. You could try it. Or use the Canson ICC as the PC Image Specialists inks are supposed to be a very close match

Thanks Jose. The Hat sent me the pro9500 service manual & it said what colour carts are used with different paper settings & I think I remember the Photo Matte paper didn't use as many as the Fine art papers did. I had to wipe my computer & I can't find it now.
I've just got around the border problem by printing the test charts on an A3+ (13x19) then I can print two full test charts one at a time.

Hi Rod

Using the Set Print Size window in Print Pro and putting a tick in the Allow lowest value for margins to be set to zero box at the bottom of the page seems to overcome the problem for me, note the warning message.

Double click on the thumbnail below to view full size. I think I have set it up as you require. It works with colour or black and white.

Thanks Emu but how do you access print pro when using the Colormuki interface to print the test charts?

You have a point there, I was thinking you used Print Pro. It rather depends on where that software option to disable the restriction takes effect. If it is in the printer, I wonder whether it would work, if you set up Print Pro and printed a paper sheet to activate the disable button and then immediately printed ColorMunki from a separate window. You could test it with cheap paper.

I have tested the 9000 II in Fine Art Premium Matte, A4, Print Quality High, Front Tray and accepted the margin change to "Art A4 (Margin35)" and ColorMunki has printed a normal size useable first chart on the piece of cheap A4 paper.

So what is the problem?:D

The very top of the test chart was cut off by the margin Ian, it only gave me about 1/4" of the top colour. The other thing is you must know what you are doing:)

This is what was produced just using CM as in #7,

We must be doing something different.

Emu

Oh and one other thing that might be relevant, the printer software "page-setup" was set to "fit-to-page"

Ian it doesn't look like the fine art 35mm border is on your print. Look at how close the left side is to the edge of the paper.
