That's a typical practice of Canon or Epson - the unit price of a megatank printer is higher than a comparable cartridge based model but the inks are cheaper - or the megatank unit price remains similar to a comparable cartridge type model but the inks are barely lower in price - as with the TA20 and TC20 models.I was referring to the TC20M which is an inktank printer.
However although it is an inktank printer, the ink costs $65 / 70ml while pro-1000 ink costs $59 / 80ml...
You might be able to use the pigment inks of the GX6050 instead and swap the inks over into the bottles for the TC-20, those GI-56 pigment inks run at a much lower price.
